On Monday, First Lady Melania Trump’s spokeswoman blasted a vicious report that suggested she did not want to be first lady. She called the editorial’s decision to publish the article “shameful.”
Vanity Fair published an article on Sunday claiming that an anonymous “friend” of Melania Trump allegedly told the magazine that Melania did not actually want to be first lady “come hell or high water,” and that she never expected to rise to her role.
Stephanie Grisham, The First Lady’s communications director, condemned the nasty article as “false” in a written statement.
“Once again part of the liberal media, this time Vanity Fair, has written a story riddled with unnamed sources and false assertions,” Grisham said. “As a magazine tailored to women it is shameful that they continue to write salacious and false stories meant to demean Mrs. Trump, rather than focus on her positive work as First Lady and as a supportive wife and mother.”
Grisham added: “As has been stated on the record many times before, she is honored by her role.”
Melania Trump has often battled criticism in the press over routine first lady functions and actions. The mainstream media has blasted Melania so many times ranging from her donation of Dr. Seuss books, to a Massachusetts elementary school, to her fashion choices in meetings with world leaders and visits to hurricane-ravaged areas.
However, Melania Trump has remained as cool, calm and collected as ever in her role as First Lady. You can see just by looking at her that she takes an incredible amount of pride in her husband’s huge accomplishments and this incredible opportunity she has to be the graceful First Lady that America truly deserves.
